ASCA is the peak body representing the Australian specialist cheese industry. Its role is to promote and accelerate excellence and bring together the best available knowledge and expertise to stimulate dialogue and provide continuing education, operational guidance, recognition and professional growth and development for its members.
Established in 1994, the Australian Specialist Cheesemakers' Association (ASCA) was formed to act as a catalyst in stimulating the growth and development of the specialty cheese industry in Australia.
Driven by the need to provide a forum for specialist cheesemakers and industry stakeholders, the associations aim was to bring together cheesemakers from Australia wide to discuss matters of mutual concern, and to be represented by a single voice. The main purpose of ASCA was to promote the development of the industry and awareness in consumers of the quality, excellence, innovation and value of Australian specialist cheese products.
In the industries short 25 year history, ASCA has witnessed significant development within the specialist sector and a growing consumer appreciation of the quality products being produced.
