Festival Fromage, presented by Fromage Artisans, and supported by the City of Perth and IGA, is Perth's inaugural boutique festival for lovers of cheese, artisan cheese makers and those liquor producers who make every cheese board experience that little more decadent and delightful.
Save the dates now: Friday 11th - Sunday 13th November, 2016
Set inside the historic Perth Town Hall and Cathedral Square lawn, this
Festival isn’t any old trade fair, market or country fete. It can only be described as a kind of 'choose your own cheese and wine adventure'
– chock full of amazing flavours, new delicacies and inspiration.
Cheese artisans and retailers will present our country’s and the world’s best cheeses for tasting and purchase upstairs at the Perth Town Hall. Downstairs will be beautiful boards, knives, crackers, preserves and everything else you'll need to create the perfect cheese plate. Once the taste buds are ignited and complete with pairing cards, we will invite you to pair your cheeses with the State’s best premium wine, beer and spirits.
In a first for Perth, there will be six long-table cheese matching and pairing degustations, devoted solely to the love of matched cheese and wine, spirits, beer and fortifieds.
The newest and best of Perth’s exploding food and beverage scene will also join in the cheese parade in the lead up to our Festival weekend, with an amazing Decadent Fromage showcase. Decadent Fromage will see the city’s high-end hospitality venues create a unique cheese dish for you to enjoy. You will be able to walk the cheesy trail via a custom Urban Walkabout map to uncover and vote for the best cheese dish of the Festival.
Finally, the Festival Culture Series will present different ways of appreciating cheese through cheese making workshops, wine and cheese matching masterclasses, cheese tasting masterclasses and through a number of talks from state, national and international cheese experts and producers.
Applications have closed for vendors but we would really welcome any last minute additions of amazing interstate artisan cheeses so please email us ASAP if you would like to join our journey to re-brand cheese in WA, and sell your cheese directly to our cheese lovin' public and network with the industry.
More events will be announced by Fromage Artisans in the lead up to the Festival in November so watch this space...
